Suicide truly is one of the most tragic thing that can happen in a person's life. What could have happened in someone's mind that led them to take their own life? What kind of pain was so big that it destroyed the suicide victim's will to live? It probably ends the pain, suffering, irritation of a person, but it destroys the same person's lived ones. It doesn't ends the pain, it passes it to someone else. How would you feel like when you realise that you couldn't help out someone you truly love? You feel guilty for living, existing. You feel guilty of being happy.
Today, suicide unfortunately is an extremely common way of dying. Most of it's victims are teenagers. Teenagers stricken with the horror of growth, teenagers depressed by the burden of the past and the future, teenagers who die because they couldn't love themselves and others enough.
However, you can probably save yourself from this dwindling thoughts by just one simple funda: Loving yourself. Of course, any kind of clinical depression or diagnosed mental disease would require a lot more than loving yourself. As a teenager, you might have various thoughts about how worthless you are. You probably have had episodes where you don't feel confident enough and sometimes you are not even comfortable in your own skin.
Now, why do we even think like that? There are many reasons : Peer pressure, Academical Liabilities, and/or personal reasons. Even though many people disagree with this, but not all teenagers are faking their depression or mental health problems nowadays. There are teens who are clearly not mentally healthy, and we should never invalidate them.
But, the question still remains. How to love Yourself? Well, let us start off with something very simple:Listen to your favorite songs. Listen to them over and over again. As a student, it is
possible that you don't have time, so listen to them when you're in a break. Take a break from all the things you are doing in a day. Do what interests you atleast once a week. Know your worth. Know the fact that there are people out there that love you and are inspired by you. Do not depreciate yourself.
Also, if someone comes up to you and reveal the fact that they're probably not mentally healthy, believe them and support them. Don't shame them for being 'too soft' or 'paranoid'. If they admitted their unhealthiness to you, know that they came up-to you expecting acceptance from you. You may not understand their problem, but do your best to be supportive.
Losing hope, aren't you?
In this world, in them, in you?
Everyday you suffer, the weak will to live,
Your anger, your pain seems to have a lot to give.
You're frustrated, you're crying with pain,
Your hope is dead, your tears stream like rain.
But, is the step worth it?
Depression can probably be solved without a doctors' kit!
Look at the world, see the colors!
Yellow brims with happiness, blue with beauty!
Now the sadness seems duller,
As the bees and butterflies roam around, doing their duty!
Trust me, the world needs someone like you!
Don’t ever lose hope,
Take the world’s cue to you,
Love yourself, love others, and you’ll see you are able to cope.
